The purpose of child dedication is to publicly proclaim that the parents desire to uphold God’s Word in the home and their responsibility as parents is to be in agreement with God’s Word. At the child dedication the parents are exhorted to “train up their child in the way they should go”. The prayer of blessing prayed over the child and parents is to provide a spiritual covering to maintain and promote the family unit as God planned it to be.

Though the culture has evolving definitions of marriage, we believe that it is God alone who has the ultimate authority to prescribe and describe the marital relationship (Gen. 2:24; Matt. 19:1–9; Mark 10:1–12). Because of this understanding, we will only recognize marriages that meet the biblical definition: a covenant relationship between one gender­-normative man and one gender­-normative woman. The pastors of Lifespring Church will only participate in weddings and officiate marriages that meet this definition.
